Your journey of discovery begins even before you start walking. Travelling by train, you can enjoy the beautiful coastline of Dublin Bay while the bus takes you through lush countryside to the Wicklow and Dublin Mountains. You also get a chance to meet the friendly locals.

Killiney Hill Park, Coastal Walk

Travelling along the beautiful coastline, we have time to enjoy the magnificent views over sea and the coast. The walk takes us through the mature woodlands of Killiney Hill Park and to the tops of the two hills overlooking the sea and the mountains. On the way back, we pass by a picturesque harbour with pretty views over Dalkey Island.

Giants Grave, Dublin Mountains

We travel first by tram and then, by taxi to the start of the walk. As we reach the forest, we do a small detour by a clearing to admire the ruins of the Giant’s Grave, built some 4000 years ago. Walking on, we soon reach Three Rock Mountain from where magnificent views open up over Dublin City and its bay. The walk ends in a picturesque village at the foot of the mountains from where we travel back to Dublin.

Ballycorus Chimney, Dublin Mountains

The train takes us along the beautiful coastline to a small village where we start our walk. The trail meanders up through the forest to a plateau overlooking the coast, the countryside and the mountains. A tall chimney, known locally as Ballycorus Chimney was built there as part of a smelting plant.

Fairy Castle, Dublin Mountains

We travel to the start of the afternoon walk by taxi. The trail leads to a small clearing where we can look at the ruins of the Giant’s Grave, built some 4000 years ago. The path leading to Fairy Castle follows the edge of the forest and we can already enjoy magnificent perspectives over the over the countryside and the mountains. after reaching the top, we walk down to Three Rock Mountain from where we can enjoy stunning views over Dublin and its bay. The walk ends in a picturesque village at the foot of the mountains.
